Many of the permits are available online through the park's website and this will also tell you if you need a permit for your vehicle as well as permit for yourself to camp there. The Queensland EPA recommends that, if you're booking a camping area, you should book at least 6 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment as some camping areas can be very popular, especially during the school holidays.

Things such as a portable shower and toilet will not be necessary if your off road caravan is already well equipped. Make sure you check into the type of facilities that are available before over packing for your trip.
Since it's unlikely you'll be near a shop on your off road adventures, you'll need to have enough supplies to last you the anticipated number of meals until you reach civilization. drinking water is also a consideration here: You may be living off bottled water or you may decide to take some form of water treatment so that you can drink the water available on site safely. And don't forget the sunscreen and the all important insect repellent to keep those nasty mozzies at bay.
Remember to take all your rubbish with you when you go and leave the countryside looking as beautiful as you found it. |
