Weddings Still Booming on the Sunshine Coast

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a wedding day to remember. It seems that even in a year of financial uncertainty, brides across the globe are still planning their fairytale weddings. The recession might have seen consumers cutting back in a lot of areas. However, the average amount of money spent on weddings has stayed nearly the same, as have the number of couples tying the knot this year.

The average cost of a wedding this year is around $32,000. That's just under $2,000 less than in 2008. With all the doom and gloom being published in the media about unemployment and unstable banks, couples are obviously keen to still enjoy their big day and make it worth remembering. Although the cash being splashed hasn't suffered too much, couples are putting more thought into how they spend their budget.

Long standing symbols of commitment, such as the wedding rings, and the fairytale wedding dress are locked in. Couples are keen to spend their money where they will still be able to appreciate it years down the line. Very sensible! Wedding suppliers and reception venues don't have to worry about business either. The extravagances being slightly cut back on are more likely to affect specialist wedding performers and adornments. But those providing wedding receptions and parties are still doing good business and the bookings should still come in thick and fast by the summer.

The sun is shining on the Australian wedding industry. No bride is likely to compromise on her big day, especially a Sunshine Coast wedding. There are great opportunities being made by the recession, such as special offers, deals and more open negotiations. 2009's wedding market is actually better for brides, as the reductions made by panicking industry professionals make great value for money.

The sparkle won't have died any time soon, either. There are still plenty of couples with dates set to tie the knot in 2010. While a small percentage of newly engaged couples are waiting for the financial economy to find it's feet again, businesses should expect plenty of enquiries, bookings and sales in the next few months. There is no skimping out on a Sunshine Coast wedding!

Australian weddings are still booming, despite the recession. Brides might be choosing pre-made dresses over couture, grooms might be splashing out on an expensive ring rather than a live string quartet, but love on the Sunshine Coast is full of just as much joy as last year. It doesn't matter if things are tight in the pocket, you can't put a price on love.
