It grows its own Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc since 1997. The vineyard is open to bus groups any day of the week and can handle large crowds. There is a lovely covered deck that accommodates 60 people for lunch or tea and wine tastings of course. The menu includes bush tucker to add to the Australian experience. Next on the winery list is the Robinsons Family Vineyard, one of the oldest in the region. Started in 1969 in Ballandean on the Granite Belt, the winery is home to a unique combination of climate and soil that yields award winning wines. It also overlooks a beautiful valley of the Ballandean National Park. The vineyard was one of the first
in the area to plant Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon alongside the native Shiraz vines. They have also since added Merlot, Beaujolais, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer for a total of 30 acres of vines. The vineyard has been winning awards since 1975 when it took a gold medal in Brisbane for a Cabernet, Shiraz, Pinot Noir blend.
The owners of the vineyards have spent time in Europe and bring the rich tradition with them to Australia.
